They were purchased to replace original Motorola piezo junkers from years back. Sad.And the output of the Pyramids was rated at 104db/w/m.
Don't waste your time. I pulled my trusty meter from Radio Shack out and didn't get close to that on either A or C weight.
Please avoid this tweeter unless you are searching for an exact replacement and have money to burn. Side by side with the new Pyramids the Piezos didn't sound bad at all.
I purchased a set to add that "sparkle" on my DJ system.
Boy, was I disappointed.
Bought this as a Gift to my brother who was in need of a tweeter, will post comments after my brother does this. I connected to Test this with Yam RXV663 along with POLK Audio R50 Main Channel to test it, through the supplied capacitor, sounded very good. Quality of the high frequency was very clear not tinny sound as most of the folks reported, am sure it is going to sound much better if conncted via proper x over network.
pay a attention to the connected resistor on the positive connection as you will need to hook this up in line to your regular deck or amp if you are without the proper crossover frequence.it will damage the speaker after a short period if feed normal sound (not using a crossover). with a small amp they will hurt you. if you have a hi pass crossover or eq engaged you can bypass this resistor. the tweeter is acually a pyrimid super bullet tweeter not the pyle like shown. these are extremely loud.
